Jordan Johnson, one of Condor’s Environmental Specialists, gave presentations to ten different groups of sixth graders who attended Manteca Unified School District’s “Planet Party Day.” This was our second consecutive year of giving presentations and this year the sixth graders learned about the pH scale and were allowed to take pH samples of certain items like coffee, lemon juice, windex, and baking soda. Other participants were the California Department of Fish & Game, Salida Unified School District, South San Joaquin Irrigation District, Micke Grove Zoo, California Environmental Protection Agency, Cal Recycle, and Crystal Creamery (just to name a few).
