Condor is now utilizing Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), more commonly known as drones, to perform a variety of data collection and analysis projects. We are able to use UAS to capture high-resolution imagery; with powerful processing techniques to render real-life visualization tools for planners, engineers, construction teams and others. These models of infrastructure, landscapes, and geologic features produce high-resolution design tools that accurately depict terrain and elevations. This data is produced in a significantly shorter timeframe than traditional methods, which translates to decreased acquisition costs. We have the capability to provide high-resolution aerial imagery, time-lapse aerial imagery, aerial video inspections, digital elevation models, scaled 3D-models and other products. All of Condor’s UAS projects have been facilitated by a federally licensed and insured UAS pilot.
Condor’s broad base of experience and expertise allows us to blend state-of-the-art data collection with powerful GIS data analytics. Some examples of our UAS portfolio include documenting spillway conditions, including cracks and anomalies, to comply with state regulations; estimating landslide volumes in engineering alternatives reports for road failures; providing post-construction aerial imagery to document solar panel installation; and documenting watershed boundaries affecting reservoir capacity.
